New Year, New Tech? Register them with Operation ID

You can register them through UTPD’s Operation Identification program. In the event of theft, the information may help UT Police quickly track down your valuables.

Theft of unsecured property is one of the biggest crimes at UT. UTPD offers the Operation Identification theft prevention program free of charge to members of the Volunteer community.

Through Operation Identification, UTPD will keep records of your personal properties’ make, model, serial number and a detailed description of the item. We will also apply a theft-deterrent sticker and or engrave your item with a unique, definable characteristic.

Items that can be registered include mobile devices, laptops and bicycles.

As a reminder, all bicycles parked on campus must be also be registered through UT Parking and Transit Services. They must display a current UT bicycle parking permit.

To register your bicycle and obtain a free bicycle permit, visit the Circle Park Information Booth or the Parking and Transit Services office at 2121 Stephenson Drive.
