In the Event of a Crime
If you witness a crime or become the victim of a crime, call 911 or 974-3111 to report the incident to police.
Do not attempt to block a perpetrator from leaving a crime scene. Instead, get a good description of the perpetrator, including in which direction he or she was traveling and any information about his or her vehicle, if applicable.
Do not follow the perpetrator. If followed, the perpetrator may panic and cause you additional harm. The information you can provide to police by contacting them immediately is far more valuable than anything you might learn by following a perpetrator.
