On the Job Injuries
If an employee is injured on the job and the situation is not extremely serious, he or she also can seek treatment at the Student Health Service. All visitors and employees with non-work-related needs should be transported to one of the local hospitals for treatment.
If an employee has an accident at work, he or she should contact a supervisor immediately to report the injury and complete an Accident Report Form. If medical treatment is needed, it is important that the employee contact the state of Tennessee’s workers’ compensation administrator at (800) 526-2305, or the Prime Health Network at (866)348-3887, for the name of a provider who is authorized to treat him or her. The injured employee must choose a provider from the state's directory for full payment of bills. Contacting the above numbers will provide the most up-to-date listing.
If you have any questions about reporting workplace accidents or how the workers’ compensation program works, contact the UT Office of Risk Management at 974-5409 or the Treasury Department Division of Claims Administration at (615) 741-2734.
